Tell It Like It Is
Portraits of Quasthoff's musical joy and brilliance
Hi FIRSTNAME
With Tell It Like It Is bass baritone Thomas Quasthoff follows up on his extremly successful album The Jazz Album released in 2007 with a new recording of American Country, Rock and Soul with a jazz feeling.
The songs, produced by the legendary Jay Newland, range from Bill Withers's Kissing My Love to ballads such as Have A Little Faith In Me and Tell It Like It Is. They represent Quasthoff's favourites from a tour earlier in the year after which he and his hand-picked intrumentalists expecially entered the studio to record again. They portrait Quasthoff's musical joy and brilliance and show how "the man with the most beautiful voice in the world" as Germany's "Stern" magazine once described him can sing just as superbly outside classical music.
One of the concerts from that series was recorded by German television (3SAT) and will be broadcasted on October 16.
